Top Ten Reasons I Love My Kitties

A new Top Ten List is posted every Monday.

  1. If I don't love them, who will?
  2. I never need to set my alarm, they always wake up hungry (and loud).
  3. They supposedly help keep the bugs under control.
  4. They purr me to sleep on sleepless nights.
  5. They refuse to wear little designer outfits.
  6. Unlike other cats, they will eat just about anything.
  7. I don't have to take them for walks and they don't want to go for car rides.
  8. They keep the little dogs in check.
  9. They keep the big dogs in check.
  10. They secretly love me back, they just don't want anyone to know.

Living in the Land of the Littles

After a recent visit with a friend whose home and yard is populated with large, robust "real" dogs, I have come to the realization that I dwell in the Land of the Littles.  My cats, though large as far as cats go, are still comparatively small.  And my dogs are, let's face it, "Littles."

I live with little dogs that can barely jump up on my bed.  One of my Littles can't even jump into the car on his own.

Their clothing size is "small" or sometimes "extra small" depending on the price.  Everything about my dogs, except their bravado, is small.

What does one learn living in the Land of the Littles?  One learns that there is as much love in a Little as in any other size.  And that living in the Land of the Littles is a good thing.
